Alsaskan Salmon from our Idaho Fisherman

At Brown Box Organics REAL. GOOD. FOOD. is our passion. We love truly good food, but we know behind every delicious bite there stands a farmer, food artisan or in the case of our premium Wild Caught Alaska Salmon, a fisherman. We are truly excited about supporting these people who make it their business to bring us this food and sharing their stories with you.

Pat Robbins and his family have been providing Brown Box customers with delicious premium salmon for about seven years. Here is a word from our local fisherman:

“We are a small family owned and operated business catching and processing Wild Alaskan sockeye salmon. Our salmon are caught off of the Alsek River outside of Yakutat, Alaska. Alsek fish is a wild, natural, sustainable resource. Our river is managed by the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game so we only get to fish 1-2 days per week during the fishing season. The Alsek river is a glacial fed river that is around 36 degrees. The temperature of the water makes our fish naturally higher in omega 3s because the fish naturally need more fats to withstand the glacier river temperatures. We are the fishermen who catch and process each fish. We think its pretty awesome that you know where your fish are coming from and who is handling it. It is because we handle the salmon from start to finish that we can produce a high quality product you are sure to enjoy.  In the summer fishing months we live in Alaska and then we winter here in Idaho where we grew up.”

We can’t thank you enough for shopping with our local business here in Boise and supporting our local fisherman. Find this amazing salmon in 8 oz. fillets on our web site here or email us to special order today.
